Good Bye Jade…

Posted by Saipradeep on March 23, 2009

I am from India and honestly knew nothing about Big Brother or Jade Goody until her racism row with Shilpa Shetty. At that point of time I think I hated her for her racist comments. Today, I write this tribute to the same woman, I write this with a heavy heart, a heart filled with pain. I do not know Jade Goody personally, I have not met her or for a fact even been close to the country where she lived, but it feels like I have lost someone close to heart. It feels like someone who you have known all your life has gone away. I think that is the charisma that Jade carried. In spite of all her flaws in her professional and personal life, she has ended up touching many lives. She has won the hearts of many; many of them are like me, people who have just read her story.

My prayers are with Jade’s family.

Jackiey (Jade’s mom), you gave us an angel to look up to. Words cannot express how you feel, for to rise a child and to see it die is the hardest thing in life. Fate has been cruel to you and I hope you see joy in being a part of your grandchildren’s lives.

Freddie & Bobby (Jade’s sons), nothing that I say could lessen the pain you feel today. As time goes on, the pain will ease, but always remember your mother, for she will be the shining star you find in the sky looking over you all your life…

Jack (Jade’s husband), you had a choice when Jade was diagnosed with Cancer and you chose to be with her till the end. We are proud of you for that. You are a brave man and a lovely human being.

You have touched many lives in the past few months through your brave fight. You have always been a star… even when you fell; you went like a falling star blazing away across the sky…

You have been a part of our lives in the past few months and will continue to be a part of our memories in the years to come.

Good bye Jade… Rest in Peace!!!

Can even God Save Pakistan?

Posted by Saipradeep on March 4, 2009

Surprisingly, I was not shocked when I heard that the Srilankan cricket team was under terrorist attack last morning. Don’t take me wrong, I was definitely concerned over the well being of those cricketers but somehow, did not feel shocked when I heard the turn of events. What more can you expect in a country that by all means has literally gone to dogs. A country that promoted terrorism as a way of life is now being bitten by its own snake. It is being torn to pieces by a devil that it groomed. Indeed it is true… “What goes around, comes around…”

Today, they are at the edge beyond which there is no path for return. For a fact, many believe that they have already crossed the point of no return. They are now forced to eat the rotten fruits of a tree they sowed years ago. This incident will give those who sit in Pakistan and still claim that they have nothing to do with terrorism, a rude jolt. I just hope that they swallow their pride, look at what is in their backyard and clean the mess that is stinking beyond tolerable limits.

I pray for the souls of the brave and innocent people who lost their lives in this crossfire. May their souls rest in peace!!!

Why do we shout in Anger?

Posted by Saipradeep on February 27, 2009

This is a beautiful forward that I received from a friend a couple of days ago. It truly gave a new perspective to the following question, “Why do we shout in anger?”

An enlightening piece of information!!! I am sure you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Here it is, as from the forward…

A saint asked his disciples, “Why do we shout in anger? Why do people shout at each other when they are upset?” Read the rest of this entry »

My experiment with Isha Yoga

Posted by Saipradeep on February 26, 2009

Yoga, this mystic word seems to simply spell bound every individual who wants to do something about his mind and body. I am no different. I have been having the urge to take this up as a quest for better attainment for many months now. In my search for the best road, I came across many, few of which were as weak as a Chennai road which erodes away in one downpour. There were also a few which seem to be as high as the mighty Himalayas, demanding not just time and effort, but also a lot of determination and guts to reach the peak. They all had a lot of glamour, but not the radiance I was looking for. Then, I came across a path, a path in which many seemed to have travelled and reached the places they wished to go. I hoped that this would lead me to my goal. I had heard about it many a times, but never gave it a second thought until I saw the man behind the show on Televison program. His answers to the questions on life and spiritualism seem to be simple at the outset, but it carried so much inner meaning. It is this simplicity that was giving power to the mysteries it held. It seemed to have a charm that enticed the onlooker into its realm. That day, I decided to learn Isha Yoga and understand the teachings of the Sadguru. Since I am calling this as my quest in the world of Yoga, I have chosen to call this post as my experiment rather than my experience. Read the rest of this entry »

TN-07-AL-4777 – Movie Review

Posted by Saipradeep on February 24, 2009

I have not seen Taxi no. 9211 and so this review would not hold any comparisons drawn between the original and the remake. TN-07-AL-4777 is the remake version of Taxi no. 9211 in Tamil.

Pasupathy, Simran, Ajmal and Meenaskshi are the main cast in the movie with Vijay Antony hitting the music scores and Laxmikanthan, the director. My wife and I went to this movie simply because we are huge fans, me of Pasupathy and my wife of Simran. The movie did not disappoint us in terms of entertainment in any ways. Jade Goody.. a battle with Cervical Cancer

Posted by Saipradeep on February 19, 2009

I am sure most of us would remember Jade Goody from Big Brother when she had the racial row with Shipa Shetty. That was the first time I heard about her. After a few days of eventful readings about the issue, I had completely forgotten about her existence. Until two weeks ago, I did not even give her a moment, but now after reading the articles about her, she does not seem to go out of my thoughts and I inadvertently seem to pray for this brave girl every time I read a post about her. My Baby’s Day Out…

Posted by Saipradeep on February 18, 2009

It was the 12th of February 2009, exactly nine months after she came into our lives, Manya, our little princess, had her ear pierced and head shaved as per family customs. For eyes to behold, our little angel did look like a princess, all dressed up in her paavadai and chattai (skirt and top in Tamil), glittering mottai (shaved head in Tamil) and beautiful studs in her ears. The entire event took about five hours starting from the moment we left home, until all guests finished lunch at Saravana Bhavan, but the build up towards this day started close months ago.  Read the rest of this entry »

Naan Kadavul – Movie Review

Posted by Saipradeep on February 18, 2009

Naan Kadavul, I watched this movie with my friends at Satyam Cinemas in Chennai. My wife declined joining us as she was scared by her friends that it was a “GORI” (scary) movie. I am really glad that she did not come with us, not because I got to spend some time with my friends but for the disappointment this movie was. It definitely did not look like the fruits of three years of hard work. The first message I sent her just 15 mins into the movie was “I am glad that you did not come”. The movie would have passed through as a documentary in Doordarshan if only it did not have the song sequences and the hero fighting the villain scenes. This movie is a double documentary, one on the Agories of Kasi and the other on the life of beggars in a village in Tamil Nadu. Read the rest of this entry »

The Tales of the Beedle the Bard – Books Review

Posted by Saipradeep on December 18, 2008

For the hype it created in the hearts of Harry Potter fanatics, “The Tales of the Beedle the Bard” is an absolute disappointment. It is no way in standard to any of the Harry Potter books and is definitely far from matching any of children’s story book written by Enid Blyton. I am sure was utterly shocked after they made a winning bid of £1.95 million ($3.98 million) for the one of the seven limited edition of this book that was hand written and illustrated by J K Rowling and auctioned in late 2007. Thank fully that money was used for a good cause and given to The Children’s Voice Charity campaign run by the author herself along with MEP Emma Nicholson. Read the rest of this entry »

Simple Secret for a Successful Marriage!!

Posted by Saipradeep on December 10, 2008

The following is a story that I recieved as a forward. It is an amazing story expecially for the married lot!!!

Monica married Hitesh the other day. At the end of the wedding party, Monica's mother gave her a newly opened bank saving passbook, with Rs.1000 deposit amount.

Mother said, 'Monica, take this passbook. Keep it as a record of your marriage life. When something happy and memorable happens in your new life, put some money in. Write down what it's about next to the line. The more memorable the event is, the more money you can put in. I've done the first one for you today. Do the others with Hitesh. When you look back after years, you can know how much happiness you've had.”

Monica shared this with Hitesh when getting home. They both thought it was a great idea and were anxious to know when the second deposit can be made.   Read the rest of this entry »
